FAVORITE SONG: The Jellicle Ball, which is mostly instrumental but it HAS SOME WORDS SO HA. It's just so energetic and awesome and it always makes me happy to hear/see it. Also the combo head shake/butt waggle is the greatest dance move of all time.
But like, song that has words all the way through - The Rum Tum Tugger. I'm a fangirl and I cannot lie.
LEAST FAVORITE: The Moments of Happiness. It just kind of...drags on for me. I mean, it speaks to the very powerful message of the play, but it's hard to get right.
I also am not a huge fan of Gus, The Theater Cat. I feel like Jelly popping in with her really cheerful bits kind of kills the very sad atmosphere of the song. Enhh. BUT I DO LOVE ME SOME GROWLTIGER.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled mania.

Oh man. Um. I love Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat. Skimble is adorable, the song is fun, and it's a catchy tune. All-round fun number. I luffles. Pekes and Pollicles, pretty much for the same reasons. I love Munkus, and I love all the shenanigans everyone get up to during the number. Another fun song, too. Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer is always fun, too. Two charming cockney troublemakers? Yes, please! Ad-dressing of cats is probably my least favourite. It's just... well, boring, and Old D sometimes holds his notes so long that it gets annoying. I like Old D, I do, but srsly. We get it, you have a great lung capacity, now bugger off

Favourite for most enjoyment would be Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. Such a fun bouncy song, and the dance is heaps of fun to do. For best song, Macavity. Such a perfect integration of music, lyrics and choreography.
Least Favourite, probably naming, if it counts. It's the least enjoyable to listen too.

For my favorite, I'm against the grain. My favorite song is probably "The Moments of Happiness" BUT most singers butcher it, making it not enjoyable, drawn out, and long. The least favorite part of that was when they added Jemima's bit from "Memory" to it. I love the song, and I love Jemima singing it, and the chorus of other cats, but I just didn't think it fit the really, really dark and somber mood.
I also love "The Jellicle Ball" and the Overture, especially the part where Bombalurina was supposed to take over the dancing part and you get the brass in there; it's so exciting and sultry. The overture all around is so thrilling.
I really, REALLY love "The Old Gumbie Cat" like, with a PASSION. I haven't heard a bad performance of it yet to date, and I'd prefer no one show me a bad performance so, in my head, I can continue thinking it's a flawless performance.
"Rum Tum Tugger" is very fun, and I'm particularly fond of the video version AND the Polish version. I love "The Magical Mr. Mistoffelees" when it's done in its entirety with the full dance and turns au seconde.
For dislike, I absolutely loathe "The Ad-ressing of Cats" with a passion. Why? It was too long, and too soon for their "A cat is not a dog." If they left out that line until the ABSOLUTE LAST ONE, and went through the rest, THEN it'd be brilliant, and hysterical with just everything all sentimental and, "Your memory I'll jog, and say a cat is not... a DOOOOOOOOOOOOG~" Bleh.
Also, I'm not the biggest fan of "Memory." My favorite line in the song is, "Touch me, it's so easy to leave me" as I break out in goosebumps, but the rest of it, tragic as it is, just bores me. Though maybe that's because I've heard it too many times.
