Munkustrap was in an unusually good mood. The sky was overcast, but he didn't care, and it was that odd state of temperature where one couldn't tell whether they were hot or cold. He'd tried to stay in the middle with layers, but it was a constant adjustment.
He wasn't even sure if there was a reason for being happy. Things just seemed to be falling into place.

Kamaria was out walking, quite enjoying the overcast weather. She was kind of hoping for rain, actually. She loved rain. Nothing better than to curl up somewhere cozy to listen to the pitter-patter, and watch the falling rain. She spotted Munkustrap, and headed over to him.
"Hullo!" she said with a bright smile. "Thanks for the other night, that was nice. Out enjoying the weather?"

He turned his head before jogging toward her. "Hey Kam. Pleasure was mine. And yeah. Just fantastic today."

Kamaria grinned and looked up at the clouds. "I hope it rains," she said happily.

"That wouldn't be so bad. Well, except for the trip back to the house. Then it gets a bit wet. But for now, it's good." He stretched out. "Any plans for today besides admiring the weather?"

"True. Unless you find a cozy shelter somewhere in the junkyard. I like sitting inside something where you can hear the patter of the rain on the roof, and watch the curtain of water falling," she said with a smile and shrugged. "No plans, really. You?"

"Not too much. Head back at some point. Probably touch base with Lonz at some point. Make sure things are going well, the whole deal."

Kamaria nodded. "Sounds good." She glanced up at the sky and grinned. "Clouds are growing darker."

"Perfect weather for you, then." He scanned the grounds, trying to spot suitable shelter if need be.

She let out a short laugh. "Yeah, I suppose so."

"By the way," he said, pausing. "I just wanted to thank you for the other night again. That was nice. Sorta nice to have a friend to joke around with, you know?" He smiled.

"No, thank you. I really needed that. And anytime. Definitely nice, and definitely something I'd like to do again. You're easy to talk with. I like that," she said with a smile.
Suddenly there was a crack of thunder, and then the floodgates of the sky opened. Kamaria laughed and looked up at the sky, arms outstretched, letting the rain wash over her. "Told you it was gonna rain!"

"You did. Come on, let's find shelter." He squinted, before pointing to a pipe that had fallen on the ground. One could see through both sides of the pipe. "That way, let's go," he said, picking up the pace, hair flattened against his scalp.

"Alright, alright!" she laughed and followed him, heading for the pipe, already pretty much soaked to the skin.

Munkustrap dashed off with her before stopping outside of the pipe, trying to be a gentleman to let her in first, laughing wildly. Thrilled.

Kamaria laughed all the way to the pipe, and flashed Munkustrap a huge grin as she dashed past him, into the pipe, grabbing his wrist and pulling him in after her as she went. When she got far enough in she sat down, still grinning wildly, completely soaked, wet t-shirt and jeans clinging to her skin. She ran a hand through her headfur, shaking water out of it, though it didn't help much. She was still soaked.

Munkustrap panted and grinned, turning so he was across from her but to the side so he could talk and see her face and stretch his legs out. "It'll be a sucky run home later."

Kamaria grinned. "Yeah, unless you wait it out. Rain's gotta stop again at some point," she said happily and looked out at the pouring rain.

"True, or I could end up staying the night out. Been known to do that before." He scooted lower so he was more on his back, legs near the top of the pipe to stretch. "I'm not obstructing your view, am I? Just getting comfy."

"I stay the night out sometimes, too. Nothing wrong with that," she said with a nod. She shifted, getting comfortable, and rubbed her own upper arms, trying to keep warm despite the wetness. She shook her head and smiled. "Nah, I can still look out just fine."

"You sure?" And then, "You cold? I'm not that much warmth but," he offered, extending his arm out. "Then again, clothes are wet."

Kamaria nodded, and then chuckled a bit. "We're both soaked. But I suppose sharing body warmth might be a good idea," she said with a smile and shuffled her way over to huddle up next to Munkustrap.

Munkustrap wrapped his arms around her and smiled. "Soaked to the bone, each other for body warmth, sort of like wet rats. We're pathetic," he laughed. He watched the rainfall, then sighed deeply. "It's nice talking with you. You're one of the only cats who doesn't want something from me."

"Pathetic indeed," Kamaria laughed. She looked up at his face and smiled. "Do almost everyone really always just come to you if they need something from you? That's quite sad. You're good company."

"Not everyone. Not Alonzo," he said without hesitation of his friend. "He's a good guy. Good and honest. Sometimes comes to talk but I go to him just as much. He's the only one who gets my guilt, that sometimes I'm not Mr. Perfect. Ugh, I'm making myself out to be a monster. I'm not that bad."

Kamaria smiled. "No, I get it. No-one's perfect. We all have our flaws. And if a few flaws would make you a monster, that'd make me... Well. A bigger monster, I'm sure. Um. That started out well and then slipped away from me," she said with a quiet giggle.

"You're not allowed to be a monster because then I can't ride in on the white steed and save you!" Munkustrap grinned, then broke out laughing. "Though, truth be told, I think I'd make a pretty princess, don't you?"

Kamaria snorted a laugh. "You do realize I now want to find you a pretty pink tutu or something, right?"

Munkustrap grinned before he looked outside. He unhooked his arm from Kamaria before scooting out, rising his arms up into third before lifting one of his legs, back arching, up into an arabesque.
"I could pull off the pink tutu!" he yelled before there was the rumble of thunder and he scrambled back inside the pipe, once again, thoroughly drenched.
