It was a boring day on Macavity's turf. Nothing was really going on. No raids, no gambling, not even the occasional whore. Apparently the days of boredom were numbered, as rumors were going around of a possible takeover. Whether it was true or not was left to be seen. There were always rumors being spread around, half of which weren't true. It was hard to believe something until it happened. Nehemaiya enjoyed the laziness of the day. She didn't much feel like doing anything anyways. Currently, she was sprawled out across an old rusty metal pipe, warming her black fur in what little sunlight there was. She stretched her arms out and kneaded idly. Her tail twitched contentedly as she relaxed. She had no cares or worries. All the black cat worried about was pleasing Macavity. Without thinking, Maiya rolled over, falling off the pipe. She fell to the hard ground with a thud. She had landed right on her back. "Ow ow...." she whimpered, rubbing the back of her head where it had smashed against the ground. She brought her hand forward to quickly check for any signs of blood. None. That was good. She grumbled and sat up, that fall had put her in a foul mood. She was relaxing so nicely, then boom, flat out on her back. She sighed heavily in irritation as she pushed herself to her feet. She cracked her neck from side to side, trying to remove a crick the fall has caused. She crawled back on top of the pipe and moved to the end. She sat there and kicked her legs back and forth. Since her cat-nap had been disrupted, she didn't really have anything else to do. She was bored out of her mind. Where was everyone? She wanted to talk to someone just for the sake of relieving her boredom.
(Hangout thread for the baddies! They need some love too!)

Sahar smirked as Nehemaiya fell off the pipe, hanging back in the shadows until the black queen returned to sitting on the pipe. She wasn't being creepy. Not much, anyway. Besides, she was always lurking about in the shadows. Her bushy tail twitched as she sauntered forward, crossing her arms across her belly as she stood behind and to the side of Maiya.
"Very graceful, Maiya." Sahar still didn't know what to make of the little black queen. She seemed very lazy and almost ditzy to Sahar, but then she could turn around and be downright scary. It confused her. Absently, Sahar moved forward, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jeans. Oh well. Sahar didn't mind Maiya, she just seemed very immature at times. A tad irritating, but nothing she couldn't handle.

Her head bolted to Sahar's direction, ears pricked forward in interest. She tried desperately to keep the smile from forming on her face, but it was to no avail. The corners of her mouth twitched upwards as she tried to hide it. "Well... I was half asleep. I mean, I can't always be the gorgeous, maginificent specimen you see before you now," she commented, lifting her nose in the air snootily while combing her fingers through her hair. Her tail beat up and down on the metal pipe. Maiya jumped down to the ground. She was barefoot at the moment. "Where are my shoes..." she mumbled to herself. She looked on both sides of the pipe and then inside. Her tail waved happily when she found them residing inside. Pulling them out, she slipped them on her feet. A pair of strappy heels were her shoes of choice when simply meandering around. When it came to going on missions or something, she wore a pair of heavy black boots. Smiling, she walked over to Sahar, her heels clicking lightly on the ground.

Sahar raised her eyebrows, her smirk returning. "You flatter yourself. Well-groomed, perhaps, or beautiful, but describing yourself as gorgeous and magnificent is pushing it." She smiled, shaking her head as she glanced down at the other queens footwear.
"Heels, really? Honestly, I thought you had more sense than that." Sahar varied between boots, sneakers, and light leather shoes. Today she wore combat boots, jeans, a black tank top, and a pristine white blazer. Practicality may rule her shoe choices, but she certainly wasn't about to neglect her fashion.
"So." She propped her hands on her hips, appraising Maiya. "Have you been as bored as I have been lately?" The lack of murders and missions was starting to make her antsy.

Maiya snorted and crossed her arms over her chest, "Hmph, I like to look nice, is there a problem with that? Plus, they give me some height. Of course I'm not gonna wear them out on a mission or something." She rolled her eyes and looked to Sahar's clothing. "And I suppose thats a good outfit to go on a killing spree with?" The black cat smirked, her white teeth shining against her black fur. She knew about Sahar's violent tendencies. Sure, it was kinda scary to think about her scarred figure looming over oneself while holding a knife..... but Nehemaiya wasn't too worried. Miss-"I hate boys" seemed to dislike toms quite a bit more than queens. "Bored? Oh you have no idea, girl," Maiya wailed, brightening up a bit. "I wish Macavity would just give me something to do... Well, nothing too stressful... Maybe he needs to count something.... or do paperwork, yeah, I could do that...." As much as she loved getting out and fighting, she was incredibly lazy. If Macavity asked her to do something though, she'd do it to the best of her ability. Her loyalty to him was unwavering.

"Your problem is that you are female," Pascal said from behind them. "It causes worry and stress and other woman troubles."

"Well, I'm not killing anything right now, am I? Besides, I have this marvelous soap that will get blood out of nearly anything. Excluding silk...." She trailed off, still upset at the loss of her favorite shirt. She never wore her nicest clothing on missions, but everything she owned could be classified as 'nice'. It didn't leave much choice when deciding what she could stand to get blood on. Sahar rolled her eyes at Nehemaiya. "Oh. Paperwork. How.... Thrilling...."
At the voice behind her, Sahar started and pivoted, her hands balling into fists. After a moment, she relaxed slightly, brushing off her blazer. Toms did make her uncomfortable, even if they were fellow gang members. "Oh. Pascal. You startled me." Crossing her arms, she added, "And I don't worry or stress. Much."

Nehemaiya pursed her lips as she turned to face Pascal. "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have any of these 'woman troubles'," she pouted. She placed both her hands on her hips and shifted her weight onto one foot. "I do what Macavity tells me. I don't let my emotions interfere." Sighing, she strutted over to the tom. She poked him roughly on the chest with her pointer finger. "Now listen here you.... you.... you." Smooth, very smooth. "I think you underestimate a woman's intuition."

"I don't underestimate woman's intuition at all, my dear," Pascal said happily, brushing imaginary dust from the spot he was poked. "If I ever what to know when shoes are on sale, I ask a woman and her intuition."

"I'm sorry," Sahar's eyes narrowed, and she moved to stand next to Nehemaiya, arms crossed over her chest. "Are you implying that all women are good for is shopping? Because that's what I thought you said, and that can't possibly be right." God, she hated men. Chauvinistic pigs, the whole lot of them. Or most of them. She could tolerate Macavity and Fangor, but the others.... They were just lucky that she wasn't suicidal enough to start lashing out at the other gang members. Not anymore, at least.

"Not all of them, no," Pascal said. It was so much fun to tease them. They were so easy.
Also, being the only thing that resembled a doctor meant he knew all about everyone.

"Oh, really? And what else are women good for?" Sahar should have walked away. This conversation was only going to lead to her wanting to punch Pascal and not being able to because of Fangor, who might just murder her if she hurt the good doctor.
Damn it all. She needed to kill something.

Maiya wasn't one to respect her dignity as a queen when things weren't going her way. She slid closer to Pascal, her hip lightly brushing against his leg. "Yes, do tell. What else~?" she purred. She shot a quick glance to Sahar and winked.

Pascal looked at her for a moment, then laughed right at her. "There are far more impressive specimens that pass through my hands if I cared for that at all. The only purpose it serves is for you to produce more fine toms."

Maiya jumped away and scowled at Pascal. "You men are, ugh! Disgusting!" she whined hysterically. She didn't like being laughed at. "So tell me, are YOU going to produce any 'fine toms' for Macavity!? I don't think you really even care!" she snarled. To her, Macavity was everything. Truth, she did want to someday produce sons to carry on and work for Mac. Her face would have been bright red with anger if it weren't already black. "You, you... I hope your first and only child is a GIRL."

Sahar gazed at Pascal with detached disgust. Shame he was worth more to the gang than she was. She rolled her eyes at Maiya. "Girls are worth just as much as boys, if not more, because we can fight and produce, as you said, 'fine toms', if we so choose. I don't think sentencing the Doctor to only have girls is so bad a fate." She shrugged. "Of course, my opinion doesn't matter to the good Doctor. I'm just a silly little girl with female troubles, aren't I?"

"Of course you are, my darling."
From around a tall wall of scrap metal, Macavity emerged. Upon first glance to an untrained eye, there was nothing notable about him that day; no, he wore the same dress shirt (rolled carefully to the elbows), waistcoat, and slacks, and his hair drawn back at the nape of his neck. Of course, this was at first glance. If a second should be given, a couple crucial details might come into play. The top two buttons of his shirt had been neglected to be pushed back into their companion slits. Secondly, through the confidence and authority he constantly exuded, the crime lord seemed tired. This was typically uncharacteristic of him; Macavity preferred his crisp appearances not only in wardrobe, but in outward emotional conduct. Something was amiss.
Or was something afoot?
Macavity graced Sahar with a faint smile. "And the good Doctor is the very pinnacle of tact and compassion. Why else do you think I would have hired such a robust, open-minded tom?" Yellow eyes turned their attention to the doctor in question. Their target may have changed, but his tone was no less sarcastic. "Pascal, you cad.
"What an interesting discussion I've happened upon," he continued after a beat, drawing his hands from their pockets to clap once, dully, in front of his chest. They lingered, clasped, as he spoke, his gaze wandering to address each of his chosen in turn. "Admittedly, I've only caught the tail end of this debate. I wasn't aware that whether or not I needed a breeding ground for future bright workers was such a concern. Let me know if this persists, will you? And, Pascal," he added, directing a sharp look at the only other tom present, "I'll thank you to withhold your need to instigate the ladies for a while. Ladies, don't respond to his taunting. You know he loves to see you riled up. The last thing I need at this moment is infighting. Is that clear?"

The black cat immediately stood at attention when Macavity entered the scene. Her expression became oddly serious for her facial features. Her arms hung tensed at her sides and her back was straight. "Yes sir, Macavity sir!" she responded.

Pascal snickered. So amusing. It was good to be useful too. He could get away with snickering.

Laughing? How dare he be laughing!? Without dropping out of her attentive position, she glared over at Pascal. Her upper lip curled up, baring a row of pearly white fangs. It was as if he had no respect for Macavity! He dared to laugh in his presence!? "I suggest you show more respect around here..." she hissed. Maiya believed that Macavity could do no wrong, so she blindly followed whatever he said. Shaking her head, she turned her gaze away.

Sahar's head snapped over to the voice, hyperaware. She quickly relaxed when she saw who it was and ducked her head when he spoke to her. "Yes sir. Sorry sir...." She glanced back up at Macavity for a moment, eyebrows furrowing as she tried to decided what was off about him before thinking better of it and letting her eyes fall to the ground. Better to follow orders and say nothing than be thought intrusive.
She glanced up and over at the black queen, shaking her head. "Maiya..." she cautioned, casting a quick glance over at Pascal and Macavity.

"My apologies if I was interrupting anything," the refined crime lord continued after a couple beats' worth of silence. "However, I've an announcement to make. There will be a mandatory meeting in a week. You will present yourself to the main warehouse promptly at ten o'clock." His yellow eyes scanned the poor souls in front of him with a critical gleam, meticulous and penetrating should he make eye contact with any one of them. "I don't believe I need to explain the consequences should you be late or if someone's tongue is too loose. You're all so.. valuable to me," Macavity purred in a vaguely condescending tone, the glimmer of a smile pulling at the corners of his mouth and his eyelids lowering heavily over his eyes after a drowsy blink. "I wouldn't want to punish unnecessarily.
"Next week, Sunday, ten o'clock," he reminded them, the false smile broadening momentarily. "Are there any questions?"

Macavity fixed Pascal with a flat stare. "You've been with me long enough to know the answer to both questions," he replied evenly though his tone hinted at annoyance, "This is not a happy dinner party, Doctor. This is business. Is that understood by everyone? Does anyone have any legitimate questions, now?"

".. what?" Both brows rose and creased towards the center of his forehead, a light frown tugging at the corners of his mouth. Macavity focussed on Pascal once again, his eyes darting back and forth, up and down as he studied the doctor carefully. "That makes little sense to me, Pascal. I hope you're aware your medicines are not for personal enjoyment. What do you mean?"

"I mean...When they get themselves hurt, they lose blood. I can replace it, but only if they give me spare at other times." He crossed his arms. "They whine a lot, when I'm trying to prevent them dying. I can't get enough pain killers, so they just have to harden up, and bleed when I want them to," he added.

".. uh." Macavity frowned, his brows creasing and lowering over his eyes as he regarded Pascal with an appropriate amount of bafflement and irritation. "This doesn't sound immediately relevant, nor do I have the slightest idea what in the hell brought this on. We'll discuss it later, in plain English."
