Etcy picked her way through the junkyard, climbing and running around all the piles of trash scattered about, just being a typical teenager. She had gotten past the whole Pounce thing, though she was still didn't care to be around him. But today she just wanted to be out. It was a gorgeous warm day and she was determined to enjoy it.
She climbed her way to a nice perch and sat back with a smile, panting a little from the exertion. Giving a stretch, she decided to soak up some sun while keeping an eye out for some other kittens roaming about. Surely they had to be somewhere!

Jemima was skipping through the Junkyard, enjoying the fabulous weather when she spotted Etcetera. She made her way over to her friend, and climbed up to her perch, plonking down next to the striped kit.
"Hello," she chirped happily.

Etcy's smile grew when she saw Jemima. As much fun as she was having on her own, she knew she'd have more with her friends.
"Hey!" she replied, giving Jemima a small hug. "What are you up to today?"

Jemima grinned and returned the hug. "Not much, really. Enjoying the good weather. What are you up to? Did I interrupt you in something?"

"Nah," Etcy replied, leaning forward and looking over the junkyard. "I've just been running around. Its too nice a day out to waste!"
"I wonder where everyone else has gotten to though. I've hardly seen anyone about and I've been through most of the junkyard." She shook her head in mock pity. "Shame they're missing out!"

"Indeed. Too good a day to be wasted!" Jemima grinned. She leaned forward, too, looking around. "Odd that nobody's around. Surely they can't all be with their humans?"

"It would be rather strange if they were!" Lifting her hands to her mouth, Etcy took a deep breath and shouted "COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE! IT'S A GORGEOUS DAY AND YOU'RE MISSING IT!"
With a giggle, she turned to Jemima. "Ah well, more for us!"

Where on earth was Mungo? As much as Rumple loved her independence, she was slightly lost without her other half. So she wandered around the junkyard, bored out of her mind.
Her head jerked up at the shout and Rumple grinned, waving up at the two kittens. "Mind if I join ya?" Sure, she was a bit older than Jemima and Etcy, but being barely 19 she was still prone to kittenish excitement. And if she couldn't find Mungo, hanging with the kittens was nearly as good.

Finally, his owners had decided to leave town for a few days. He was free! As much as Meringue loved his humans, he loved spending time with the Jellicles as well. He had just arrived in the junkyard when someone shout out. Tilting his head curiously, he followed the sound. He came across three of the young queens. He was a bit disappointed that Bombalurina wasn't there, but maybe she'd show up later? At least he hoped so. As he came into view of the others, he waved to them shyly, not saying a word.

Etcy looked down at her hands before turning to Jemima with a surprised look on her face. "Apparently I'm magic." She wiggled her fingers at Jemima before turning towards the new comers.
"Hiya! Steal anything good lately?" She asked Rumple, giving Meringue a friendly wave at the same time.

"Clearly you are!" Jemima said with a giggle, and greeted both Rumpleteazer and Meringue with a small wave.

Rumple giggled, beckoning to Meringue before climbing up to join Jemima and Etcy. Settling herself down, she smirked and raised her arm in reference to Etcy's question. A glittery bracelet sparkled on her arm.
"Me an' Mungo picked this up a few nights ago. Ain't it pretty? I love the sparkles." She giggled again, dropping her hands to her lap. "What've you two been up ta lately?"

Meri followed Rumpleteazer and crawled up as well to join the others. He sat a small distance away from them. He wasn't awkward around the girls really, to be honest, he was slightly more afraid of them. He knew girls liked thier personal space. When Rumple began to show off her bracelet, the kit's eyes widened. He stared intently as the shiny, glittery, sparkly object. He just LOVED that sort of stuff. If he saw it on one of his owners' little girls, no doubt he would have 'borrowed' it and hoared it in his catbed. He didn't steal things like Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer, he just borrowed them to look at for awhile. He owners always ended up finding the stuff and taking it back anyways.

"Oo! Very pretty!" Etcy exclaimed, admiring the bracelet. "I haven't been up to anything, really. Just running around, enjoying the day." She added with a smile.
Tilting her head a bit, she glanced over at Meri. "You're a quiet one, aren't you? You don't need to be so shy, we won't bite!"

Meringue's curled ears raised a bit. "Oh... um..." he mumbled, "I uh..." He wasn't quite sure of what to say. What could he say really? It was true, he was quiet, he was shy. But, he wasn't sure if the girls would or would not bite him. He wasn't going to take his chances.

Rumple giggled at Meringue. "Gosh, yer quiet." Noticing how the kitten stared at her bracelet, she slipped it off her wrist and held it out to him. "Want it? I 'ave way too many glittery things." Sometimes Rumple could be nice. At any rate, she did have too many shiny little bobbles. What was the use of having them if she never wore them? Might as well give one as a present every now and again.

The kit's eyes lit up. He nodded excitedly. He hesitantly reached out, thinking that Rumple was going to take it back or something and laugh in his face. "You can never have too many glittery things..." he commented shyly.

Rumple shook her head, pressing the bracelet into Meringue's hand. "Yeah, ya'd normally say that, but when yer me, ya grab a sparkly thing whenever ya see one, and ya end up wit too many ta count." Grinning, she leaned back to stare up at the sky. "'Sides, I always prefer the pearls. You'll nevah catch me givin' away some pearls."

"And here, I thought diamonds were a queen's best friend.."
Delightfully out of both earshot and sight, Macavity lounged in his favored hiding spot - within view of the junkyard proper, of course. After all, it was a slow day in the crime world. He had some time to survey and keep tabs on his most favorite tribe.
Dark, attentive ears pivoted side to side, paying close mind to the decorated calico below. As he narrowed his eyes and focused on Rumpelteazer he laced his fingers comfortably over his midsection, crossing his ankles in front of him. At the corner of his mouth, the barest hints of a smile. Poor thing. Even when she thought she was safe, she wasn't.

Meringue smiled happily, "Heh... its nice to find someone else who shares my love of shiny things." His curled ears twitched excitedly. "So, how did you learn to get all this stuff anyway? I mean... you just... grab it?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Shiny things are the best!" Rumple giggled, blissfully unaware of anyone watching. "Hmm.... Well, Jerrie an' I 'ave been stealin' stuff all our lives. We weren't very good fer a while, then...." She trailed off, trying to think how to phrase it. She hadn't told anyone but Munkustrap about their time in Macavity's gang, and she intended to keep it that way.
"When we were 14, we got a.... a mentor. He, uh.... he taught us how ta get bettah at stealin', so we're real good now. Course, we work best as a team, but I'm the bettah thief outta me an' Jerrie." She smirked, sitting up again.
"Um, yeah, I guess we jus' grab it, but a lot o' it is figurin' out the best time to nab it, when the owner ain't lookin'. Usually one o' us distracts while the other grabs it." She shrugged. She had never really thought of stealing as very hard. It was just something she did, some compulsion she had to grab things that caught her eye, whether it was pearls or sparkly bracelets or random trinkets.
