Name: Kioa
Alias(es) (ie. Human, Tribe, Alter Ego): None she knows of
Nickname(s): Kiki
Alliance (Jellicle, Macavity, Stray, House Pet, Other Tribe): Unsure
Bio Sex: Female
Gender (Optional): Female
Sexual Orientation (Optional): Unsure yet, but leaning towards the toms
Age (Human Years): 14
Relations (Parents, Siblings, etc.): Chris (father), deceased mother
Appearance: Kioa is a short and skinny kitten that possesses quite a lot of brown and yellow fur with dark brown stripes. Her fur has a permanent unbrushed look, and no matter how hard she tries to groom herself, it won’t stay neat for long. She’s frightfully skinny, but no matter how much she eats, she still looks like a half-starved stray. She has wide innocent eyes, her defining feature. She likes wearing baggy jeans and plain shirts, as they’re easier to run around in.
Personality: Around strangers, Kioa retreats inside herself, afraid of them and worried they won’t like her. And, even around those she is comfortable with, she is still quite shy and quiet. Kioa is very sweet and generally trusting of others. She’s very innocent and naïve, and was sheltered by her mother growing up. She really had no idea that there could be evil in the world. For the most part, she’s a very happy and cheerful kitten, but after her mother died, she’s been prone to depressive mood swings that confuse her.
Life Story (Important for Original Characters): So, before Chris met Kitrina, he met Kioa’s mother. They didn’t spend much time with each other, but after Chris moved on, Kioa’s mother discovered she was pregnant. She left London to raise her daughter, and the pair was always fairly happy, roaming around the countryside as strays. But once Kioa got older, around 11, her mother got homesick for the city and returned there, eventually telling Kioa about Chris. Life went on in the city, and Kioa was never really curious about her father. She was happy with just her and mum. But when Kioa was almost 14, her mother got sick and died, leaving Kioa alone in the middle of London. There was no other family she knew about, so Kioa decided she needed to find her father. She was still just a kitten, and she needed someone to look after her, she thought. So, only knowing his name and his coat was a little like hers, she started searching.
Anything Else: I already discussed this a little with ABT, but I know this needs tweaking. Kioa is very open to editing to make her fit better.
Writing Sample:
Kioa slid against the wall to the ground, her head cradled in her paws. Sure, Mum was sick, but she wasn't that sick. She still went to the market with Kioa, to beg for scraps or steal some if the shopkeepers weren't generous. She couldn't be that sick.
Or... have been that sick. Kioa shuddered, wrapping her arms around her torso. Mum hadn't responded when Kioa arrived home, hadn't moved when Kioa prodded her shoulder, hadn't flinched when Kioa screamed. Her body was still lying in their den, Kioa was afraid to touch it, afraid of her mother's body. Sure, it just looked like Mum was sleeping, but she wasn't there anymore. Not really.
She took a deep, shaky breath. She was alone now. Mum didn't have any family, or any family she told Kioa about. Well... There was one.... She bit her lip. Mum hadn't seen him for fourteen years. How the hell was she supposed to find him now?
