Etcy sat on a tire with her chin in her hand and a pout on her lips. She had been stalking Tugger looking for some entertainment and so far was failing.
"UGH! There's nothing to do!" she complained to the rubbish, flopping back on the tire so her head hung over the edge upside down. "This junkyard is stupid."

Exotica was catching some sun nearby and rolled her eyes at the kitten. "If the junkyard is so stupid there is plenty of other areas to go to," she said, "of course you could just stay there, slowly sliding off the tire until you fall, I'm sure that will attract some attention, though it may be unwanted."

Unprepared for the sudden voice, Etcy jumped, which caused her to indeed fall off the tire and land on her head. Righting herself, she spotted Exotica. "Whaddija have to go and startle me like that for?" She pouted, rubbing her head. "Ow"

Exotica couldn't help but chuckle at the kitten's antics. "That was very graceful," she said, "And if you'd been a bit more observant you would have seen me laying here, not five feet from you, on a bright blue box, in case you haven't noticed, I'm cream and brown, I don't blend into blue very well." Exotica paused, "and if you keep sticking your lip out like that, a bug is going to land on it."

Etcy rolled her eyes at the queen and sat on the box next to her. "So sorry I missed you." She paused and swung her legs. "So what are you up to, other than lying around on blue boxes and being snarky?"

"Snarky? Since when am I snarky? I'm just being observant to what is happening around me, and if you must know, I am reminding the sun why he comes up in the morning. He and I are quite close you know." Exotica replied, stretching a bit more and gazing upwards.

Ecty just sat and looked at Exotica for a bit. Sometimes she thought the queen was a bit strange. Okay, a lot strange. But she was bored and it didn't look like anyone else was around so it was either Exotica or nothing.
"Are you now?"

Exotica cracked an eye open to look at Etcetera, "I can see you don't believe me, you could just ask him you know, he's a very friendly creature, so lonely as everyone just feels he's there to serve them. Can you imagine what it would be like to be stuck in the sky with no one to talk to and no thanks for the warmth and light you provide, poor dear." Exotica wondered if the kitten would actually fall for it, she always did enjoy telling stories, and there were so few who asked for them any more.

Unfortunately for Exotica, she didn't, put she played along. "Well, its not like the sun is the only one in the sky. And wouldn't seeing people and animals out enjoying warm sunny days show how much they appreciate the light and warmth?"
Sometimes, Etcy could be logical. Sometimes she scared herself with it.

"I guess" Exotica replied, sitting up. She looked sidelong at Etcy, "Then again, considering how many friends and family one kitten has, it's amazing she feels bored and alone on a day such as this. Why would you be bored when I'm sure there's a group of kittens who appreciate your time and company..."

As if on cue, Lectra made her entrance. "HEY ETCY!!!!" The Queen tumbled in, skidded to a halt next to one of her besties and put her arm around her shoulder. "How's it goin'?" She was grinning, obviously in a good mood. No telling what had happened to make her this happy. Lectra blinked and then saw another cat around. Exotica? Was that her name? Electra had never been good with new names and she didn't see this Queen around very often.

Having spent most of the day so far at home with her human, Jemima decided to pop by the junkyard when her human went out with some friends.
Entering the junkyard, she instantly spotted Etcetera, Electra and... Exotica? Huh. She never would have pegged Exotica for a queen who enjoyed the company of kittens.
Sneaking over to where the others were hanging out, she popped her head in between Etcetera and Electra's, from behind.
"Hello girls! What's the gossip today?" she chirped happily.

Etcy was just about to reply to Exotica's comment when Electra and Jemima appeared out of nowhere. Instead she gave the queen a small smile and shrug. "Hey you two!! Where'd you guys come from?"
She knew that Exotica was a loner, not that she knew why anyone would want to be a loner, so she was afraid that the appearance of the other two would make her leave. She had been enjoying her company, no matter what it seemed.
"Exotica was just telling me a story. She's really good at storytelling. Aren't you?"

Exotica leaned back again, "I can be, at times, but usually the skill of the storyteller depends on the skill of the listener."

"Oh! A story?!" Lectra could live with a good story. As long as they were action packed and not too slow. Her attention span could only handle so much and it wasn't very long for the things it could handle. She grinned at Jemi, enjoying the company, but also too excited to talk because of the prospect of a good story.

Jemima's ears perked up.
"Please, do continue. I love a good story," she said happily, settling down next to Etcetera.

Exotica smiled at the kittens, “I was merely telling Etcetera about the sun and how lonely he is.” She said, stretching out again to catch some more rays, “He didn’t used to be stuck all the way up there you know, there was a time he was able to visit all the creatures on the earth.”
