"I would love to fall for a nice, straightforward tom. Or queen. I'm not picky. No-one has expressed the least bit of interest in me, except for you, though, and I'm sorry, but... As I already told you, I care for you the way I would care for a brother. You're too young for me. Which I realize is massively hypocritical for me to say, considering the age gap between your father and I is bigger than the age gap between me and you, but..." she sighed. "Sorry."

"I already told you Plato thought you're pretty. If you made a move on anyone in the Junkyard who swung for queens, you'd get who you wanted that was respectable. Pursue it, waiting around won't do anything." Thoguh pursuing things didn't often work, at least not in his case.

"But Plato thinks everyone's pretty. I don't know. I'm too damn shy. I don't even know how I mustered the courage to tell your dad. It probably would have been better if I didn't. I... got a little crazy."

"So just because someone thinks everyone's pretty makes it not worth anything?" He frowned. "You're looking for every excuse for someone not to like you. I don't get why you're set on being miserable." And why you keep bringing him up. Munkustrap, he could deal with, but his father again, and again, and again, and again. She didn't even know what he was like!

"Well no, but I think if he would ever be exclusive, it'd be with Victoria. Or something. He's not really my type either. He's lovely, he's just a bit too... Immature for me." She sighed. Maybe he was right. Maybe on some subconscious level she fell for cats she couldn't have, because she didn't think she was good enough for anyone.
"It's not so much looking for an excuse as it is I don't see why anyone would want to be with me in the first place," she said quietly, well aware of how stupid and depressive it sounded. But that's how she felt.

He frowned and shifted on his back to better study the changing position of the clouds and sky. "I don't know. I think everyone hates themselves to some degree. Except Plato because he's too stupid."

Kamaria nodded and looked up at the clouds again, too. "I suppose you're right."
