Mungojerrie just needed to get away. He couldn't stand to be surrounded by the others anymore. He thought he could handle it with Quaxo at his side, but it seemed as if he couldn't. He'd been hiding the secret and remaining in denial for years. He didn't need people judging him when he had just come to grips with fact himself. That itself wasn't easy. "So, do ya still wanna stop at yer place?" Mungo asked, squeezing Quaxo's hand tightly, seeming to make sure that he was still there.

Quaxo nodded, squeezing Mungo's hand in response and smiling, "yeah we should, I'll get another shirt and we can drop off the sheets."
He could feel the discomfort coming off of Mungo, and was determined to try to make him feel better. After what he had just done for Quaxo, Mungo deserved that much from him. "Hey," he said, "don't worry about them. Everything will be fine." He didn't really know what else to say.

Mungo sighed, "I 'ope yer right..." He wanted desperately to believe that everything would turn out for the best. He was skeptical though. He tried not to feel sorry for himself. Quaxo had probably gone through worse, and here Jerrie was freaking out about being bisexual. He felt just awful about the way he was acting. "So um... wheres this place'uh yers?" he asked, looking around. There was another thing, although he had Misto, Quaxo was basically alone. Mungo had Rumpleteazer to lean on.

"Oh," Quaxo said, "right...it's umm..." he turned on the spot to get his bearings, "this way. It's an old dresser, not too bad I guess." He sighed slightly, this was insane, this whole thing...I mean, everyone hates him, then someone finally likes him and it just sort of explodes from there. Well he was sure of one thing, he wasn't going to mess this up with Mungo. He wouldn't let anything happen, at the very least he would make sure that they remained friends, though deep down he knew that he hoped for more.

Mungo let Quaxo lead the way to his dresser. He made a mental note of where they were. He was thinking of the fastest way to get back home. If he remembered right, his humans were planning on going away for a few days, they probably hadn't returned yet, so there SHOULD have been no problem in sneaking Quaxo in the house. That is, unless Rumple was there and decided to protest. He hoped she wouldn't, oh how he hoped she wouldn't.

As they caught sight of the dresser Quaxo grinned, "aha, I knew I'd find it eventually." He lead Mungo to the dresser, letting go of his hand for the first time since they'd left Munkunstrap's den, and crawling underneath it. He stuck his head out a smile still on his face, "well come on," he said, "you might as well come and see for a minute while I grab a shirt."

Mungo looked around for a moment, as if to make sure Quaxo was really talking to him. He smiled and nodded, following the smaller cat. "So... 'ow long were ya 'ere for? This doesn't exactly seem like the uh... nicest place ta stay."

"Just a couple weeks so far," Quaxo said, fumbling around his makeshift den for his shoulder bag, "it's...yeah, it's been an adjustment." He finally found it in the far corner, gathering up all of his modest collection of possessions and stuffing all but a new shirt into it. He threw the shirt on and slipped the bag over his shoulder. He looked at Mungo again, "I figured I should pack a couple things just in case I, you know, end up staying for longer," his voice got quieter, his face flushing, "or something..."

How could he even live here for that long? Perhaps Mungojerrie was just used to the fine living in Victoria Grove. Hearing Quaxo suddenly go quiet caught his attention. "You can stay as long as ya'd like." He stepped to Quaxo, reaching out and scratching him behind the ear.

Quaxo purred, "really?" He was excited to say the least, living with Mungo would be great, he was sure. It had to be better than this place.

Mungo nodded excitedly. He anxiously grabbed Quaxo's hand and tugged slightly. "Yer gonna love it!" he smiled. Well, he hoped so at least. It was a good life; food and water readily available, a comfy bed to sleep, lots of fun toys to mess around with, and of course plently of stuff to steal.

Quaxo laughed, getting up as Mungo tugged his hand, "OK then, lets go!" He pulled Mungo's hand walking out of his 'den' and perhaps into a new life.

The calico led the little black cat through various streets and back alleys. That was really the only way he knew how to get back home. He rarely, if ever took main roads. He preferred to stick to the shadows. After a few minutes, Mungo started to recognize the area as being close to Victoria Grove. He smiled and started to walk a bit faster. "We're almost there!" he announced.

Quaxo tried his best to keep track of where they were going but lost his way after about half a dozen turns, he just followed Mungo, hoping desperately that he was not getting them lost. When Mungo spoke he grinned, "awesome! I can't wait to see it!"

Once arriving, Mungo rushed up ahead of Quaxo to a fence. He looked over it for a moment before pushing one plank to the side. He slid through and motioned for Quaxo to follow him. "Its just in this way, c'mon!"

Quaxo followed quickly, sliding in beside Mungo, looking slightly nervous. Whatever Mungo said to the contrary, he was not entirely convinced that his owners would be entirely OK with him spontaneously showing up at their house. He tried his best not to show his fear, however, and followed the his guide.

"Alright! 'ere we are!" he stated, looking up at a large fancy looking house. It was well taken care of. The grass on the lawn was a bit long due to the humans being away for awhile. Mungo trotted happily over to the cat flap at the door. He lifted it and looked to Quaxo. He wanted to say 'Ladies first', but that seemed inappropriate, so he stayed silent.

Quaxo looked up at the place, it was huge, he couldn't believe it. He glanced at Mungo an awestruck expression plastered over his face, "this is...brilliant..." He ran towards Mungo, not going for the house, and instead hugging him tight, "thank you."

Jerrie was taken by surprise. He blushed and blinked a few times. He dropped the flap to the cat door and wrapped his arms around Quaxo. He held him with a firm grip, not wanting to let go. He lowered his face into the crook of the black tom's neck. "I should be thanking you..." he mumbled, "Ya've 'elped me overcome my fear... alittle..."

"I just," Quaxo started, "this whole thing has been so hard, and then all of a sudden you come along, and...you're nice to me. I feel like I've been fighting uphill for the last two weeks, and now all of a sudden things just...I dunno, they feel better." He loosened his grip, smiling up at Mungo, "if I've helped you at all, it's nothing compared to what you've done for me, that I promise." He placed a quick peck on Mungo's lips, "OK mister, show me your castle."

Mungo giggled and stuck out his tongue, "Alright... Princess~" He once again lifted up the flap on the cat door and motioned for Quaxo to go in ahead of him.

Quaxo laughed at that, "Princess eh? Does that make you my prince then?" He winked and walked into the house, waiting on the other side of the flap for Mungo to follow.

"I'ma knight in shinin' armor," he answered, crawling into the house. Aaah, it was good to be home. It was nice to be someplace familiar and safe. Someplace where he knew he belonged. The door led into a well decorated entry way, fake plants and ornamental urns lined the walls. Beyond that was the foyer. It was basically empty, save for a few strategically placed seats. There was a footstool near one of the windows, that was Mungo's favorite spot to catch some sun and take a nap. On either side of the room were two passages. One led to the kitchen, the other to the living room. Leading up from the foyer was a stairwell. It led to an upper level where all the bedrooms were. There were plenty of other random doors, but they were on no real importance.

Quaxo gasped as he looked around, "I...this is...beautiful." He looked at Mungo, "this place is huge, how many people live here? And is it just you and Teazer for cats? It looks like it could fit an army." He was babbling slightly, but the whole sight of the place had really taken him off guard, it was...well, it was kind of magical. He grasped Mungo's hand again, as if to make sure that it was really there, and that he indeed was really here. He looked at the calico and smiled, this was amazing.

"Well... lets see... its 'ard ta keep track of everyone. Its a pretty big family. Theres the man and woman... three girls... two boys.... Then theres a cook and a maid too..." he mumbled. Then shrugging he said, "Yeaah, just me 'n Rumps. I think they 'ad a dog once... But for now, yeah, me 'n Teazer... oh, and now you." Jerrie didn't take much note of the house. He was used to it, it wasn't really anything special to him anymore.

"And," Quaxo said, "and..you're sure they won't mind me being here? Your humans I mean? I just..." he quieted and looked at his feet, "I mean...I...well, I don't want to lose another home." His voice trailed off, but the words had been said. He had lost his home before. It was, of course, of his own free will at the time, but he missed it; he missed it so much sometimes he woke up with dreams of the children of his house calling for Ghost.

"Bah, I'm sure they won't even notice yer 'ere! They don't pay much attention ta stuff like that. They're all too busy ta pay Rumps 'n me any attention. They can't even tell us apart, that just shows 'ow much they don't care. We're just 'ere fer show or somethin..." he stated, nodding in agreement with himself. "Besides, 'ome is where ya make it. If they kicked ya out, I'd go with ya and we'd make a new 'ome. Just cause there's an 'ouse doesn't make it an 'ome!" Had he ever been this philosophical before? Not likely.

"That's beautiful," Quaxo said smiling up at the taller cat, "I'll be happy anywhere that you are. You're doing very well if you're trying to make me like you even more," he said honestly, "I never would have believed someone could be as kind to me as you are." He paused a moment, "so Romeo, do I get to see your quarters?" He snuggled up closer to the calico, purring slightly. He was so content, so safe, here with Mungo, it was hard to imagine that they hardly knew each other.

Mungo laughed at the name 'Romeo' for a moment. "Well, I like ta take naps over there," he said while pointing to the footstool near the window, "Buuut, the great thing 'bout a big 'ouse... is the extra rooms! Theres this one room that they usually use fer storage 'n stuff, thats where I like ta stay. Its under the stairs, c'mon, I'll show ya!" He scampered forward excitedly to the stairwell. Going around the the side of it there was a triangular shaped hatch. Mungo quickly pulled it open and looked inside. Good, it was just how he had left it. There were cardboard boxes stacked neatly on top of eachother around the exterior of the room. Jerrie had cleared out the middle as his own space. There was a massive pile of big fluffy pillows, old baby blankets, and quilts. There was also an assortment of various cat toys laying around. Mungo had even managed to drag an old radio in there. "I 'ide all my pickins in the 'alloween decorations box," he said quite proudly.

Quaxo followed Mungo to the room that he called his own, smiling at the pile of fluffiness in the center. "Ooh, that looks lovely," he said smiling, "he had not really slept well at all these past weeks; a combination of stress, emotions gone crazy, and generally, not being used to sleeping outside all the time. He tossed his bag in the corner, hopping onto the pillows and grinning even wider at how soft and comfortable they were. "This is wonderful Mungo." He looked into the box marked Halloween, seeing a variety of shiny and seemingly expensive items, "this stuff is great," he said, pulling out a small gold chain. "You took all of this?" The tone in his voice suggested nothing but awe.
